If you’ve always wanted to try stand-up paddle boarding but weren’t sure where to start, this is the perfect introduction.
Our small-group lessons are designed to help you feel safe, relaxed and confident from the moment you step onto the board. With a maximum of just three participants, you’ll receive plenty of individual coaching as you learn the fundamentals of paddle boarding on our beautiful open water lake.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to improve your confidence and technique, your coach will tailor the session to suit your ability.

Already comfortable on a paddle board?
Our Adult Lake Access SUP Sessions provide dedicated access to the lake, allowing you to paddle, practise your skills or simply enjoy peaceful time on the water at your own pace.
These sessions are not instructor-led, making them ideal for those who simply want uninterrupted time on the lake. A qualified Wild Wood UK lifeguard will always be on duty and is happy to offer the occasional tip or pointer if you’d like one.
Bring your own paddle board or hire one of ours.
After your paddle, stay a little longer around the fire pit with one of Gee’s delicious homemade bakes and a hot drink from our self-service refreshment station.
More than just paddle boarding—it’s a chance to slow down, reconnect with nature and become part of our welcoming Wild Wood community.

Wednesday: 6:00pm–7:00pm
Friday: 7:00pm–8:00pm

Thursday 1:00pm to 2pm OR Sundays | 4:00pm–5:00pm
Our Family SUP Session offers children and parents the opportunity to enjoy paddle boarding together in a safe, relaxed and fully lifeguarded environment.
Perfect for families wanting to spend quality time outdoors, these sessions provide dedicated access to the lake where you can paddle, build confidence and enjoy being on the water together.
This is not an instructor-led lesson, although our lifeguard will always be available to offer guidance if needed.
Suitable for:
Children aged 10–16 years
One participating adult per child
Families looking to enjoy paddle boarding together
Bring your own paddle board or hire one of ours.

🛶 Paddle Board & Equipment Hire
Don’t have your own equipment?
No problem.
Paddle boards are available to hire for £8.50 per session.
Buoyancy aids (life jackets) are also available to hire if required.
Equipment hire can be added during online booking and is subject to availability.
You’re also very welcome to bring your own paddle board, paddle and buoyancy aid.
🧭 Important Information
Adult Lake Access SUP Sessions are for adults aged 18 years and over.
Beginner SUP Lessons are suitable for adults and children aged 10 years and over.
Family SUP Sessions are for children aged 10–16 years, with one participating adult required per child.
All sessions must be booked online in advance.
We cannot accept payment on site.
We operate a strict 24-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy.
Any cancellations or booking changes must be completed more than 24 hours before your session using the link in your booking confirmation email.
Please do not contact Mannie to amend bookings. Wild Wood UK is run by a small administration team, and bookings can be managed quickly and easily through your confirmation email.
Eligible refunds will be processed manually and may take a few working days to appear.
Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times whilst on the water.
All participants must attend the safety briefing before entering the lake.
All sessions are fully lifeguard supervised.
Participants should be comfortable in and around open water.
Sorry, dogs are not permitted during paddle boarding sessions.

Buoyancy aid (compulsory)
Everyone should also bring:
Swimwear or comfortable water-friendly clothing
Towel
Warm clothes for afterwards
Water shoes (recommended)

One of the things our visitors love most about Wild Wood UK is that your visit doesn’t have to end when you step off the water.
After your paddle, take a seat around the fire pit, chat with fellow paddlers and enjoy one of Gee’s delicious homemade bakes with a hot drink from our self-service refreshment station (payable by QR code).
Whether you come for the exercise, the tranquillity, the fresh air or simply an hour to yourself, you’ll leave feeling refreshed, recharged and ready for your next adventure.
