From June, lifeguards are available at the following times:
Monday: 8:00am
Wednesday: 5:00pm
Friday: 1pm and 5:00pm
Saturday: 9:00
Sunday: 10:00am & 3:00pm
✨ Also discover our 9:30am Swim Club with Curious Rose — a relaxed guided session for swimmers looking to build confidence, consistency, and community in the water.
Swimming is limited to 15 swimmers per session to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

❓ FAQs
How long is the swim route?
The lake is approximately 200m in circumference.
What’s minimum age for swimmers?
We accept anyone from age 16 + swimming in the lake
Do I need a float?
Yes. You must use a tow float. You can bring your own or hire one for £5.
What is access like?
We have improved stepped entry with handrails and a sandbag landing area, plus emergency exit access.
Are there lifeguards on site?
Yes. Lifeguards are present during all swim sessions, except swim club sessions.
Is there a café?
No café, but we offer a tea and coffee station with free post-swim snacks (please take only what you need).
Is there a sauna?
Yes. A sauna experience will be available within 3 weeks of June, with bookable swim and sauna sessions. A fire pit is also available in the warming area near the tea station and changing rooms.
What wildlife might I see?
The lake is full of life, including carp, and occasionally otters, herons, and kingfishers.
Are there changing facilities?
Yes, changing rooms are available next to the car park. Please leave them as you find them.
Are toilets available?
Yes. There is one toilet and a shower located by the changing rooms.
Is wild swimming safe for beginners?
In summer months, yes. In winter, only experienced swimmers should enter the water due to temperatures that can drop as low as 1°C. Ice swimming conditions may occur.
Can I bring friends or family?
Yes. Everyone is welcome, but each swimmer must book individually. We do not allow under 16s.
Can I hire the lake exclusively?
Yes. Private hire is available at £70 per hour. We recommend adding a lifeguard at £20 per hour.
