Keeping Wild Wood UK Green🌿

Our commitment to protecting the landscape, water and wildlife around us.

Wild Wood UK was created around the landscape, not the other way around.

Set within beautiful countryside on the Worcestershire–Herefordshire border, Wild Wood is home to woodland, meadows, wildlife and naturally spring-fed waters. From wild swimming and paddleboarding to Pilates, yoga, retreats and peaceful stays in our Shepherd’s Hut, nature is at the heart of everything we do.

As Wild Wood grows, we want to make sure we do it thoughtfully — protecting the environment we’re lucky enough to call home and creating spaces that sit comfortably within the landscape rather than competing with it.

We’re not perfect, and sustainability will always be a work in progress, but we’re continually looking for ways to tread a little more lightly and keep Wild Wood wild.

Naturally Spring-Fed Waters

Water is at the heart of Wild Wood.

Both our lake and natural pool are spring fed, giving our guests the opportunity to experience beautiful natural water without the feel of a conventional swimming pool or spa.

Our lake is regularly water tested, and we carefully manage how it is used to help protect its water quality and the ecosystem surrounding it.

Swimming and paddleboarding take place during designated sessions, allowing people to enjoy the water while helping us preserve the peaceful environment and wildlife around the lake.

We ask everyone who visits Wild Wood to respect the water, banks, plants and wildlife that make this place so special.

Powered by the Sun

Solar power helps provide energy across Wild Wood, including helping to power areas around our lake and natural pool.

Making use of renewable energy is part of our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of the site as Wild Wood develops.

We’re continually looking at where we can make smarter choices about the energy we use while keeping the natural, outdoor character of Wild Wood at the centre of everything.

Working With Nature

Wild Wood has deliberately developed slowly.

Rather than trying to transform the land, our aim is to work with what is already here — retaining its natural character and creating spaces that feel as though they belong within their surroundings.

Our lake, woodland, meadows and outdoor spaces provide habitats for birds, insects and other wildlife. Protecting that biodiversity is an important consideration whenever we make changes to the site.

You might occasionally find Wild Wood a little wilder around the edges — and that’s intentional.

Thoughtful Development

As Wild Wood evolves, we try to reuse, relocate and improve what we already have wherever practical.

Our handcrafted Shepherd’s Hut is a lovely example. Rather than replacing it, we have chosen to relocate and enhance the existing hut, creating a beautiful lakeside retreat with its own outdoor space and an even closer connection to nature.

Where possible, we favour natural materials and understated design, allowing new additions to settle gently into the landscape over time.

Our philosophy is simple: better, not bigger.

Naturally Simple Wellness

We believe some of the best wellness experiences are also the simplest: natural water, warmth, movement, fresh air and time outside.

Our saunas and hot tubs have been chosen to complement Wild Wood’s outdoor setting rather than create the feel of a conventional spa.

Our wood-fired facilities are heated for booked sessions rather than being kept continuously running, helping us avoid unnecessary energy use.

Cold water, meanwhile, comes courtesy of nature.

Supporting Local

Wild Wood is a small independent business, and supporting other independent businesses is incredibly important to us.

Wherever possible, we work with local instructors, coaches, therapists, makers and food producers.

Our classes, workshops, retreats and events also give local wellness professionals the opportunity to share their skills and grow their own businesses from Wild Wood.

We love that spending time here can support a much wider network of people within our local community.

Less Waste, More Thought

We try to keep unnecessary waste to a minimum across Wild Wood.

We encourage reusable water bottles and cups, avoid unnecessary single-use items wherever possible and make considered choices about the products we use throughout the site.

With natural water forming such an important part of Wild Wood, we are particularly conscious of what is used around our lake, natural pool and surrounding land.

Sometimes the greener choice is simply to use less — something we try to keep in mind as Wild Wood continues to evolve.

Small Groups, More Space

Sustainability isn’t only about energy and materials. For us, it’s also about how a place is used.

Wild Wood has intentionally remained small-scale. Our swimming sessions have limited numbers, our wellness spaces are intimate and many of our experiences are private or held in small groups.

This helps reduce pressure on the land while giving our guests something increasingly rare — space, peace and the chance to properly switch off.

Our Community

Wild Wood isn’t just somewhere to visit. We want it to be part of the community around us.

Alongside our paid experiences, we offer community initiatives including our free Run Club and selected community wellness opportunities.

Creating ways for people to move, spend time outdoors, meet others and enjoy the countryside is an important part of what Wild Wood is about.

Protecting What Makes Wild Wood, Wild

Wild Wood will continue to change and evolve, but we never want growth to come at the expense of the landscape that makes this place special.

As we introduce new spaces and experiences, we’ll continue looking for ways to use renewable energy, reduce waste, support biodiversity, protect our spring-fed waters and make thoughtful choices about how we develop the site.

Because ultimately, Wild Wood wouldn’t be Wild Wood without the nature around it.

A little wilder. A little slower. And always connected to nature.
